Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of traditional and emerging media.

Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were nearly 6,500 entries from throughout the United States and 27 other countries in the Hermes Creative Awards 2022 competition. 16 percent of entries won Platinum, the top award, and 22 percent the Gold Award.

Our winners:

PLATINUM

The Watermark Hotel: Strategic Campaigns; Integrated Marketing Materials

This hospitality brand is all about taking the traditional hotel experience and turning it on its head in the best way, so the branding had to match. Red Thinking focused on bringing elements of the physical space into the creative collateral to establish a cohesive style that not only evokes the same feelings that the building itself inspires but continues it. There are gold and brass accents throughout the hotel which inspired us to incorporate gold pops into the branding. Gold diagonal lines and triangle shapes function as brackets in the creative, giving a sense of being enveloped by sophistication.

The Watermark Hotel, Wren Restaurant: Print Media, Design

With Wren, the restaurant and bar at The Watermark Hotel in Tysons, VA, function and form united to create a brand that connected with the experience and atmosphere of the hotel while establishing a personality that remained truly distinct. The Red Thinking team worked hard to craft Wren’s story and menu, to artfully balance sophistication with approachability, like the food at Wren balances traditional Japanese street food with modern American cuisine.

“Winning four Hermes Creative Awards is one of the coolest ways to remind ourselves we’re producing incredible work across a variety of our creative services,” Shay Onorio, President & Owner of Red Thinking, said. “We’re always so good at internal high-fives, and our clients are all very appreciative of our creativity, THINKING and content generation. It takes it to another level to be recognized by industry leaders and peers in this manner. A surefire way to put some pep in our steps, and celebrate our hard work once again.”

GOLD

Red Thinking: Holiday Card, Design & Creativity

During the Pandemic, some of us re-introduced ourselves to Mad Libs! Brand new to some, nostalgic to others, and you’re not alone if you have to Google “what is an adverb?” Seeing as content is king in a lot of what do and design, a holiday Mad Lib just made sense! And apparently not just to us!

Periculus (Lowers Risk Group): Social Media Campaign (Multiple Platforms)

Periculus is a one-stop-shop created to level the playing field for small to medium sized business owners who want to keep their data – and their customer’s data – safe from prying eyes. Our social media pillars/goals are to inspire, educate, promote and entertain our target audience, the entrepreneurial movers, shakers, and quick thinkers. We must ensure the social media graphics and messaging resonates and gains their attention fast and with a bit of “fact-mongering,” versus straight up digital risk fear.

Hermes Creative Awards is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, digital media production, and freelance professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges, and awards outstanding achievement and service to the profession.
