Meet Jen — the redheaded namesake behind our moniker and the Founder and Chief Red Head of Red Thinking.

Jen has two decades of experience helping companies build awareness and brand preference in the marketplace. Her natural leadership skills have made her a standout in the industry and the community. Before founding Red Thinking, Jen was president and co-founder of Hinge, where she led the charge for eight years in professional services strategic branding and marketing. She left the firm in 2010 to form Red Thinking, bringing her core staff of designers and project managers with her.

Jen is passionate about community service and serves or has served on numerous boards including: Leadership Fairfax, Board of Trustees for Reston Hospital Center, Let’s Help Kids, Entrepreneurs’ Organization (DC Chapter), Fairfax County Parks Foundation, National Science Communication Institute and several private company boards. Her community leadership positions have included Past-President of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization—DC Chapter, Past-Chairman of Success in the City, Past-Chairman of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, Past-Chairman of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and Past-Chairman of the Reston Chamber’s INC.spire incubator. She has also been an active mentor for emerging businesses through the Small Business Development Center and EO’s Accelerator Program.

Jen graduated from George Washington University where she received a BA in Visual Communications with a minor in Psychology. Today, she speaks frequently to audiences on the topics of branding, life lessons and entrepreneurship. In her other life, Sterling is a proud mother to her tween daughter.
